Wonderful examples of Pinot Noir are now being produced in Australia. Great examples are also coming out of Central Otago, and you could say it's the red of New Zealand. Because it's a fussy grower, it requires greater understanding and is popular with wine buffs. Good Pinot Noir offers up aromas of cherries, plums, spice and even truffles or 'forest floor'. It's a fine dining wine that goes beautifully with mushroom dishes and game birds.
